(Or, a change of pace for the August holiday)
Lovely. How’s the book coming along?
Thank you Alain...after much displacement activity now getting down to serious work on book!. Deadline next March!
I spent some time in Belfast in ‘71/72 .. bad days. I’m looking forward to reading it
Though thankless the work of a sub-editor be,
Full one score years plus six at the FT,
Yet through those years I've long admired
The pithy insights, crisp and inspired
Of Philip Stephens, a political sage
And commentator on our sorry age.
But as politics goes from bad to worse,
Phil Stephens turns his hand to verse,
And uplift do his words provide —
As politicians he continues to chide.
Thank you Paul..poetically generous!
thanks Philip! And since you mention writing another book, here's a shameless plug for my *DEBUT NOVEL* a tale of intrigue and covert love in post-Soviet 1990s Russia!
