He is a visiting senior research fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. He is also a fellow of the Bosch Academy in Berlin and a member of Aspen Italia in Rome. He is a Contributing Editor at the Financial Times where he was previously Director of the Editorial Board and Chief Political Commentator.
